Creativity thrives when our day-to-day realities are disrupted. Lewis Hyde’s bookTrickster Makes this Worldasserts that tricksters are heroes. Their mischief disrupts our sense of control and forces us to creatively respond to disorder and chaos. Nick Bantock wrote The Trickster’s Hat, A Mischievous Apprenticeship in Creativity for “anyone who wants to expand their creativity and get to know themselves better…wants to go deeper into their psyches to understand their relationship with the creative process.”
Some even believe that they hide their gold simply in order to lure in the unsuspecting and when granting their captors three wishes, they often instead lead them astray.
Leprechauns, part of the fairy family, are the descendants of Tuatha Dé Dannan (translated as ‘Peoples / Tribes of the Goddess Dana / Danu’). Their name is said to come from the Irish leath bhrogan (which is translated as ‘shoemaker’), or the word luchorpan (meaning ‘small body’), or perhaps even lucharma’n (meaning ‘pygmy’). They are a protected species under European Law.
This video has the full story behind how leprechauns became a protected species on Carlingford Mountain as prescribed by an E.U. directive explains that there are supposedly 236 leprechauns that are living today in Carlingford Mountain.
Are Leprechauns and the fairy realm real?
You must determine that for yourself. Here in the Portal to Soul Sparks, we will make a regular practice of simply suspending disbelief long enough to spark a creative thought, connect to something beyond what can be seen, and feed our wild nature.
Summer with the Leprechauns is an astonishing true story about one woman’s journey to Ireland where she lived in a cottage with leprechauns. These seldom-seen beings taught her about the evolution of elementals – the race to which leprechauns, faeries, elves, trolls belong. They explained the importance of humans and elementals working together for the betterment of both of their races and the Earth.
Real Fairies is a website “created so that the elves and many other types of beings could speak directly to humanity” by two sisters who feel connected to the fairy realm. They offer An Interview with a Leprechaun.
The purely fictional MAGICAL BAKERY MYSTERY Series‘ main character, a light witch, is engaged to a man who “is taken over by the spirit of a leprechaun.” This truly cozy mystery series leaves the reader feeling just a bit more magical. Perhaps that is the real gold, simply feeling a bit more magical amidst the mundane aspects of our day-to-day lives.
